    Matching thread to the lighter colored leather is generally recommended. For exotics, it's suggested to match the exterior. Note: As item is hand-sewn, thread color will be the same on both exterior and interior.

Design

This wallet has a full length cash pocket, yet is nice and compact and slim enough for front pocket carry. Ideal for 4-10 cards & cash.

Construction

  • Hand sewn using the saddle stitch method
  • Detailed edge work. Edges are finely creased, hand painted, and polished to a smooth finish
  • Cash pocket and hidden pockets are lined with leather.

Edge paint color defaults to maker’s choice, which is typically matched to either exterior or interior. For special requests, please add an order note.

    Building upon the great layout and organization of the Vertical Bifold, the Compact Bifold offers easier access to the hidden pockets as well as a fully-lined billfold slot that can hold all currencies! Clean stitching and burnished edges round out the beautiful burgundy and tan vegetable tanned leathers, making this piece as nice to look at and feel as it is to use. Silas helped answer all my questions throughout the design process and is able to talk through whatever ideas you have for the custom piece you’re interested in!

    I initially ordered this wallet with a burgundy exterior from Leder Ogawa and ortensia Pueblo leather. However, after some pleasant back and forth with Silas, I ended up choosing teal Buffalo leather for the interior instead, with thread matched to the interior. I am very pleased with the quality of the final product, the deep burgundy is gorgeous while the teal of the buffalo adds a nice contrast, the leathers are in excellent condition and you can easily tell that both the Cordovan and buffalo is of formidable quality. The construction is nothing short of excellent, the cut of the leather is flawless, and the stitchwork impressive, with some nicely painted edges, and subtle embossed initials. I have absolutely no doubts that this wallet will outlast me (with proper care of course). I found the utility of the Compact Bifold style to be perfect for some one with a minimal amount of cards and bills in their wallet at any given time (Though I believe Silas can accommodate a couple more card slots if requested). The wallet fits well in my inner jacket pocket without bulging out and is overall a great size for suits. The ordering experience was also a point of pleasantness, communication from Silas was great and he really helped me narrow down the final selection of leather for the interior, when I initially had some doubts about what to go with. I can highly recommend ordering from Leatherbound, and I certainly will be ordering wallets for family members in the future.

    After reading the previous reviews, I can only echo their sentiment. I chose a shell cordovan exterior and chevre interior, and the materials are simply stunning. The navy (ogawa) is smooth and changes color from navy to almost black depending on the lighting. The craftsmanship is impeccable, with meticulous stitching and flawless edges. After 11 weeks of daily use, I still find myself admiring this wallet, it’s simply perfect.
